Dangerous Goods Shipping, also referred to as DG shipping, is a specialized area of function in the logistics industry.
Transportation of dangerous goods is highly regulated by domestic and global organizations such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and the US Department of Transportation (DOT), to name a few. Non-conformance of these strict dangerous goods regulations could result in significant fines, penalties, or even imprisonment (these could be as high as $500,000 per incident for organizations, and $250,000 for individuals with/without imprisonment terms).
